TWO-TIME GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINEE BLAIR UNDERWOOD ENTERS “CAMELOT”
Two-time Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood (In Treatment), along with Little Studio Films, have purchased the rights to best-selling book “CAMELOT’S COUSIN,” with plans to adapt for a film with Underwood starring & producing.
Underwood’s production shingle INTREPID PICTURES has partnered up with international production and distribution company LITTLE STUDIO FILMS to adapt David R. Stokes’ best-selling book ‘CAMELOT’S COUSIN: THE SPY WHO BETRAYED KENNEDY” into a movie, with Underwood to star as the book’s protagonist, Templeton Davis.
Underwood, whose film credits include, “The Art of Getting By,” “Madea’s Family Reunion,” “Something New,” “Full Frontal,” “Rules of Engagement” & “Set It Off,” is a longtime spy and history enthusiast. “Camelot’s Cousin” is an espionage thriller set against the backdrop of the Cuban Missile Crisis and other famous events during the Kennedy administration. The discovery of a long-buried journal indicates that one of President Kennedy’s most trusted friends was actually a Soviet mole. Templeton Davis, a scholar and media personality, becomes lost in the investigation and travels far and wide in his quest to unravel one of the 20th century’s greatest mysteries. David R. Stokes, an author, ordained minister, broadcaster, and columnist, states “Blair Underwood is a gifted performer and communicator with the right skills and persona to bring Temp to life as a man of deep thought and heroic action. I didn’t have him in mind when I created Temp a few years ago, but I might as well have. It’s uncanny how much this remarkable actor fits the bill.”
Underwood and his business partner Tommy Morgan will produce along with Alexia Melocchi and Alexandra Yacovlef of Little Studio Films, who also represent Stokes. Little Studio Films plans to introduce the project at the upcoming Berlin Film Market to buyers.
